Ender's Game

I inished this one on audiobook while keeping the eReader handy. What a fkn ride start to finish!. Orson Scott Card strikes this cadence where he never gives Ender the time to stop. It makes for a striking novel, and theres plenty of sci-fi fantasy to go around. It's a wonderfully imaginative book. Card seems to paint humanity as messy, complex & both terrifying and terrified. Ender as a character, is not so much a result of a hero that takes the initiative, as he is an animal trapped in a cage. He's always making difficult decisions that weigh him down. All the while wondering why he's doing any of this for a system he hates. Much of his contempt is what fuels his success, and so he plays the games he's always played, because that's all he's ever known.
